We are seeking an Accounting Clerk in Houston, TX for a direct hire role paying $30,000-$33,000/year.
Must haves:

Job DescriptionAn Accounting Clerk provides assistance with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and a variety of construction project related tasks. This position provides administrative support to the Assistant Controller and other Accounting Team members as needed.

Essential Functions:

Basic Tasks:
  • Timely provide responses to vendors regarding payment inquiries as well as other questions related to Accounts Payable.
  • Notify vendors by email when checks are available after weekly check runs and communicate documents needed and the necessary lien waiver needed before releasing the check.
  • Release checks once required documents have been received, either by mailing or by distributing in person if check is being picked up.
  • Electronically file all lien releases in the job files, both PDF copies and scanning and saving hard copies.
  • Weekly processing of Home Depot receipts for all jobs.
  • Maintain vendor contact list.
  • Process employee expense reports.
  • Maintain employee Driver’s License and Insurance list for monthly allowance checks.
  • Distribute all monthly mileage and cell allowance checks to employees upon receipt of their required backup.
  • Create vendor lien release files for all new jobs.
  • Update checklist daily with any new checks and checks released.
  • Complete monthly audit of checklist.
  • Enter all permit costs and reconcile Permit Register weekly with all permits obtained.


Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • 1-2 years accounting experience required
  • Accounts Payable experience preferred
  • Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills required
  • Self-Motivated & Detail Oriented
