Job Description

Job Summary: Carry out wiring and assembly of products for product line following routine procedures and specifications. Product line assemblies require medium electrical skills as described below. This position reports to the Team Leader.            
PRINCIPAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1.Spot Welding of wires and electrical components.2.Assembly of electrical components to specification3.Check products electrically using standard measuring tools4.Spool and handle cable products correctly5.Laying harness in chassis6.Electro-mechanical assembly of chassis and boards7.Terminate and test connections8.Evaluate products for repair and reconditioning9.Reading the Manufacturing Bill of Materials (BOM)10.Build sub-assemblies supporting product applications11.Reporting non-conformances in a timely manner to the Manufacturing Team Leader or Manufacturing Engineer12.Fill out requisitions when directed by the Manufacturing Team Leader13.Completing product routings and travel tags14.Performs visual inspections to aid product repair validation15.Ability to assist in writing clear instructions and notes concerning wiring of product line items   16.Ability and willingness to learn and train other technicians skills involved in Assemblies17.Demonstrates strong attributes of a team player  18.Good oral communication and thinking skills19.Exercise independent initiatives pertaining to process improvement20.Handling of chemicals and understanding of MSDS21.Input of information into database systems
EDUCATION:Electrical or Electronic Diploma or equivalentMust be certified to IPC J-STD-001C and IPC-A-610 standards.
EXPERIENCE DESIRED: Minimum of seven years of hands on skills (Electronics assembly experience) in related work preferred or equivalent. Must be familiar and skilled in soldering techniques.
BASIC SKILLSManufacturing Assembly Technicians are required to be trained, tested and certified in the following skills:S1Wire PreparationS2Soldering and splicingS3Cable handling and related machineryS4Spot Welding, laying harnesses in chassisS5Use of technical data, interpret blue prints & wiring diagramsS6Basic electrical theory and use of standard test equipmentS7Basic computer skills (E-mail, company related web sites)S8Testing
WORK SCHEDULE:At a minimum, must be available and committed to standard business hours of operation. If requested upon, demonstrate ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule should a business need arise.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ EFFORTS:1.May be required to lift items of up to 25 lbs 2.Must be able to distinguish and identify colors
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:Traveling not required unless specified for training purposes
