Job Description

GDH has an immediate need for an Assistant Controller for a direct hire position in Tulsa, OK.  

Role Description:
  • Budgeting:  Coordinates the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, institutes and maintains other planning and control procedures (including the cost accounting system), and analyzes and reports variances.
  • Compliance:  Is responsible for compliance with all local corporate, and other applicable taxes.
  • Depreciation:  Determines depreciation rates to apply to capitalized items and advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax revisions as recommended by outside tax group.
  • Financial Analysis:  Development, analysis, and interpretation of statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance against budget, and other matters bearing on the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.
  • Record Keeping:  Advanced knowledge of the accounting system(s) and is capable of resolving system issues as it relates to general ledger activities.
  • Reporting:  Furnishes internal reports, revises and updates reports to be more useful and efficient, and furnishes external reports as necessary. Responsible for providing the organization and its management with the appropriate financial and operating information as needed.  Prepares reports that outline the company's financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and future operations.  Works closely with other department groups on problems involving accounting systems and financial planning.

  • Employee Development:  Monitors administration with adherence to standards, completion of goals and continued employee development
  • Employee Supervision:  Supervises and oversees assigned department staff ensuring appropriate level of talent in subordinate positions.
  • Employment Law:  Understands basic employment laws and ways can be protected through minimizing liability. Consults with legal counsel.
  • Limits of Authority:  Aware of authority limits and obtains appropriates approvals when necessary.
  • Management Suggested Practices:  Ability to understand and be able to communicate to employees the policies and procedures described in Management Suggested Practices.
  • Performance Reviews:  Prepares timely, accurate and honest performance reviews to subordinates.
  • Resourcefulness:  Utilizes Human Resources and other internal and external resources available to insure appropriate decisions are made in line with law, policy, procedure and corporate core values.
  • Subordinate Relationships:  Maintains active and constructive relationship with employees under his/her supervision.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related discipline, preferred.
  • Five (5) or more years experience gained through increasingly management positions within discipline, preferred.
  • Specialized training and/or experience as related to plastics and/or manufacturing in areas of Essential Functions, preferred.
