Job Description

We have an immediate need for an RF Systems Installer in Midland, TX.  This position would be a member of the Network Infrastructure WiMAX Team supporting WiMAX communications in our Permian Production Fields.  The installer will be responsible forinstallation, maintenance, and repair field communication systems in the Permian Basin region (Texas/New Mexico).  Most services will be performed on-site and will require travel. This person must have some familiarity with Network Infrastructure technologies including Wireless, Routing/Switching, and IPv4. The position will be in Midland, TX primarily supporting remote RF communication requirements utilizing Ethernet or TDM based transport. Work hours will vary. Some weekend and after-hours work should be expected.

Job Duties
  • On-site installations of microwave dishes and antennas.
  • Installation of cameras (indoor and outdoor).
  • Installation of wireless access points.
  • Cabling installation (run and terminate cables, including Cat5/6, DC power (low voltage).
  • Mount and align microwave radios
  • Install other connectivity equipment such as power supplies, routers, etc.
  • Simple troubleshooting
  • Correction and repair of broadband (WiMAX) service
  • Equipment troubleshooting
  • Detailed record keeping
 Minimum requirements and core skills requiring significant expertise:
  • MUST be comfortable using an articulated aerial boom lift up to 50’.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to change, be self-sufficient, and use resources at hand for resolving issues
  • Troubleshooting remote connectivity issues
  • Ability to operate hand tools and power tools in a safe manner including drilling into and attaching equipment to various structures.
  • Installation of broadband antenna equipment.
  • Knowledge of various cable and connector types including but not limited to cat 5 cabling.
  • Ability to route cable from exterior to the interior of a location.
  • Install and configure networking systems and components (primarily managed switches)
  • Ability to configure TCP/IP settings on Windows 10.
  • Use of PC and iPhone based applications to program and diagnose various communications equipment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel to create and edit documentation.
  • Self-Motivated
  • Must be willing and able to work after normal business hours with on call duties.
  • Ability to work alone and be able to evaluate the work completed to assure its quality.

Physical Demands:
  • Work involves driving long distances. It also involves walking, talking, hearing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reaching with hands and arms.
  • Installer will be required to regularly work from a boom lift or ladder.
  • Must not be afraid of heights.
  • Installer may be required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
