Job Description

Lyondell is now hiring a Cost Assistant III in downtown Houston TX for a 6 month contract to hire position.

Experience Needed:
  • SAP and Excel experience need to be current,.
  • Accounts Payable experience must within the past 2 years
  • Estimate and report cost, including commitments vs. expenditures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Works interactively with project team members to accurately maintain & update cost information.
  • Report cost.
  • Reconcile all commitments and expenditures with financial controls.
  • Develop cost estimates and late scope additions.
  • Collaborates with others to accomplish goals.
  • Supports team decisions.
  • Promotes mutual ownership of ideas and actions.
  • Plans and achieves work in a logical, systematic and cost effective ways.
  • Effectively communicates with owner & contractor personnel.

  • Highly proficient with SAP, Windows, Microsoft Office Suite and common estimating software application programs.
  • Broad knowledge and experience in maintenance and construction practices.
  • Extensive understanding of all processes.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of office related software to include Microsoft Office or Outlook Proficient in Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of PowerPoint is a plus.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • High school diploma.
  • Minimum of 10+ year’s administrative experience.
