Category Manager - Rolling Equipment

We are looking for a Category Manager with knowledge in Industrial equipment.

Location: Houston, TXSalary: $130,000 + per year. Summary•Responsible for managing all of or a subset of commodities within a category consisting of several commodity groups, •Prioritizing initiatives.•Managing the implementation of the category strategy and supplier agreements.•Determining category and sub-category strategies.•Managing suppliers and their contracts.•Measuring cost and benefits.  Key Responsibilities•Responsible for market intelligence and category analysis by assessing external market conditions, identifying risk, and developing effective cost reduction models.•Must possess excellent project management, change management, collaboration, communication, contract/negotiations, and risk management skills in order to successfully coordinate supplier relationships and major commercial decisions across a diverse set of stakeholders.•Leads the business through decision making and champions opportunities to make necessary improvements.

Minimum Qualifications•Undergraduate degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.•8+ years in supply chain, field operations and/or project management. 

Notes:•Sector Category: Industrial equipment: cement, track trailer, engine, transmission, radiator, chassis, heavy roll equipment, vases that they build for offshore, equipment used in a daily operations•Technical, mechanical background•MBA or business degree is good•Engineering degree a plus•In-depth knowledge of technical/mechanical equipment•Exp. in similar equipment. Heavy truck companies, or multimillion-dollar contracts, or competitors.•Negotiation skills, day to day communication.•Project management skills, practical, technology, how to look for 3-5 years projects from now and how to manage those projects•Critical skills, long term implication, creating relationships, influence the stakeholders, influence the decision makers, managing relationships, adapting the change, change management, customer satisfaction, customer services oriented role.•Coaching and mentoring.•Structured Negotiation skills.•20% of travel, visiting suppliers, maintaining/building relationships.

Interview Process•HR screening.•2 people in phone interview (60 minutes).•Panel interview (90minutes) Case study.
