We have an immediate need for a GIS Professional for a direct hire position in Lenexa, KS.  This position offers free parking, flexible work hours, work from home options, career growth and advancement opportunities, a cafeteria on premise, and 401k with company matching.   

GIS Professional
  • You’ll need strong computer skills (Microsoft Office), and possess extensive experience and problem-solving capabilities with GIS and data processing software, especially the Esri ArcGIS suite of products. Experience with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, Microsoft Access), and Esri ArcGIS extensions. Experience with ArcGIS Online and Portal is a strong plus.
  • Asset management experience and skills are preferred.
  • Project management and staff management skills are preferred.
  • Manage and provide GIS technical guidance for GIS projects and 
  • Ability to connect/cross market across other discipline services.
  • Support other disciplines that have existing client relationships and leverages those relationships in search of growth opportunities.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining client relationships, as well as strategic pursuit of planning, stakeholder outreach, proposal development and project management execution for project delivery as may be warranted.
  • Work closely with our GIS leaders in pursuit, identification and strategies, agency and public outreach, and allocation/management of technical resources.
  • Maintain a strong foundation of technical knowledge and develops knowledge of internal and external technical resources.
  • Participate in GIS industry groups (URISA and local GIS User Groups, Professional Engineering/Planning Associations) as a committee member, workshop instructor or speaker at conference events. Participate in other visible industry roles to maintain a high profile. Attend major conferences such as ESRI UC, CalGIS as needed.
  • As the situation/project warrants, lead the project delivery, QA/QC, and technical guidance on GIS related projects through coordination with the various stakeholders involved. This is a key part of the culture in maintaining active senior level leadership in project delivery with our clients.
  • Lead the proposal, interview, fee development and negotiations for various project pursuits
  • Recruit and attract individuals to the firm and help build careers. Serve as technical and career mentor to existing and future GIS staff.
  • Provide exemplary leadership and serve as a role model for others.

  • Provides guidance, mentorship or informal training for less experienced personnel.
  • May directly supervises 0-10 employees in various positions.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of 7+ years of related experience that demonstrate a successive increase in experience and responsibilities
  • This is a highly visible position that requires strong interpersonal, communication, presentation and negotiation skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • You’ll have the ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments independently under limited supervision
  • You’ll be proficient with current computer programs and technologies.
