Position Description:

Connected Streaming Service Feature Lead

  • End-to-end feature ownership for vehicle streaming feature(s), including authoring feature specifications and models (SysML), project management, application of core functional and interface specifications, design reviews, FMEA, and validation procedures. Requires system engineering thinking and knowledge of vehicle CAN, Ethernet, and offboard (cloud) protocols, digital and analog camera systems, RTP/RTSP streaming protocol, WebRTC, and encoding (e.g. H264).
  • Collaborate with interfacing engineering groups to ensure feature compliance with vehicle technical, architecture, service, cybersecurity, regulatory, and privacy requirements.
  • Lead change requests when necessary, champion CR’s through the process and work with impacted Connected vehicle components for analysis and implementation.
  • Use broad understanding and involvement with feature specifications, models (SysML), and FMEA to author validation procedures.
  • Effective project management ability in order to achieve comprehensive and on-time feature testing.
  • Determine root cause for software open issues discovered during the development process, e.g. timing stackups and race conditions. Recommend and implement interim and permanent containment actions.
  • Author and support analysis methods such as 5d, fish bone analysis, and 5 why analysis.
  • Connected Streaming Services single point-of-contact for various issue-management systems such as AIMS and JIRA.
  • Adaptability to a rapidly changing product landscape while using and developing best practices.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and shift priorities as required to meet business requirements and timelines.
  • An innovative and customer-focused approach to problem solving and system development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively under compressed timelines and sporadic heavy workloads.
  • Ability to work with global engineering, design, and marketing areas who may each follow unique protocols.

Experience Required:

§  6+ months of experience with cloud feature implementation and software modeling (coursework allowed)

Experience Preferred:

  • 3+ years of experience in Connected Vehicle and Mobility space or a similar automotive feature development role.
  • Experience with streaming protocols, vehicle CAN and Ethernet protocols, digital and analog camera systems, RTP/RTSP streaming protocol, encoding (e.g. H264), and cybersecurity.
  • Understanding of human-centric design for an optimized user experience.
  • Good understanding of embedded modem architecture and vehicle to cloud connectivity.
  • Experience with IoT (Internet of things), vehicle telematics, cellular communications, telematics service providers, in-vehicle connectivity features implementations, cloud architecture, data analytics, V2V communications, embedded telecommunication.

Education Required:

§  Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related Engineering degree

§  Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related Engineering degree
