Job Description

We have 4 immediate needs for experienced Project Managers for an 18+ month contract (possibly contract to hire) opportunity in Atlanta, GA (30339).  This Client has set up a transformation office to help their Finance organization transition off of mainframe legacy applications and transform into an organization that can support the other Enterprise priorities.  There is a 3-5 year roadmap, and these positions will be focused on managing projects around supporting and integrating systems with other Enterprise initiatives.    Some Background on the Project and Positions:
  • There are 4 workstreams: P2P, O2C, Record to Report, Finance technology workstream
  • There are 4 Project Manager opportunities – one focused on each workstream
  • This is a heavy project planning role that will help build and manage the work plan. 
  • These individuals will know/determine key decisions, assumptions, risks, issues, etc, and how all those might affect the project plan for the workstream. 
  • Present to leadership the scope of work to transform over next 3-5 years, while demonstrating that the workplans support a meaningful roadmap.


Skills and Experience Needed, Role and Responsibilities: 
  • This client is looking for experienced business Project Managers who will build work plans, track issues, risks, and assumptions.  They will partner with IT Project Managers to fold in milestones from IT project plans.
  • Looking at key decisions and changes that the business needs to make to transform into the new technology. 
  • Identify key decisions and track them. 
  • Make sure they have mitigation plans for risk. 
  • Participate in some process changes, but they will have a change management workstream as well. 
  • Heavy emphasis on short and long-term planning. 
  • Partner with the business owner (Director in Finance) and business lead (SME from finance/accounting), demonstrate to business owners and leads the value of Project Managers.  Help the workstream and business owners understand the full scope of the work ahead of them. 
  • Understand the outside forces and priorities that might affect their workstream. Status reporting, report out on budget for their workstream, run meetings. 
  • Need to be a good partner and organizationally savvy.
  • They are in the process of bringing in a systems integrator. There will be an SAP team. Lots of coordination among different teams.
