Job Description

GDH has an immediate need for a Quality Assurance Engineer for a 6 month contract position in Overland Park, KS (66210).  This client offers a great atmosphere, located in Corporate Woods with easy access to walking trails, and breakfasts provided on Mondays and Fridays.  


Quality Assurance Engineer

QA Engineers are responsible for tracking and validating that features meet requirements as set by the product team, as well as writing and executing test cases to ensure software deliverables meet defined quality standards. A QA Engineer will work tightly with their QA Manager/Lead in understanding testing requirements and procedure.


Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Be a champion for department initiatives and values. Ensuring all actions promote the departments mission statement.
  • Participates in daily stand-ups, bi-weekly sprint reviews, planning, and retrospectives.
  • Review acceptance criteria, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
  • Manually test deliverables and validate they meet the acceptance criteria as defined within the scope of work.
  • Develop, maintain and upgrade test scripts, utilities, and data sets required to execute test plans.
  • Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test scripts and test plans.
  • Identify and document bugs in a uniform manner.
  • Triage production bugs using problem skills to reproduce and clarify reported issues in order for the team to properly provide a resolution.
  • Communicate in a professional manner when interacting with peers, senior staff, and internal or external customers.

Job Requirements

  • Experience with testing web applications and reporting defects
  • Be able to work quickly and efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate skills and abilities needed to coordinate, facilitate, and participate in a collaborative approach to the completion of tasks or assignments.
  • Experience with practical problem solving to identify root cause
