Job Description

Through our partners at Recruiter.com, we have an immediate need for a Senior Portal Architect in Cleveland, Ohio.  This is a direct hire position paying up to $140,000/year salary.


The Portal Architect will architect, design, and build the technical foundation of enterprise, global web capabilities, utilizing portal and web content management platforms. This role serves as a key influencer and mentor setting technical strategy for web content management to meet IT and Business strategies. You will architect, design, develop and deliver web-based solutions to provide new capabilities and solve complex business problems. This person drives technology standards and process across a global team scope: Oracle WebCenter Portal, Oracle WebCenter Content, Oracle Access Manager, and related Java applications.


Essential Functions:

  • Plan for future-state technology portfolios and IT program investments
  • Develop, communicate, and deploy global architecture governance processes
  • Drive solution architecture, ensure technical alignment and facilitate technical solution delivery
  • Be accountable for maintaining high levels of solution performance, availability and capacity, demonstrating a commitment to quality
  • Work within IT Organization to successfully influence the direction of key technical elements of the solution environment
  • Be able to collaborate across technology partners to drive overall solutions. Broad level of technical and functional knowledge across all technology components
  • Design and provide solutions to fit the requirements of the project stakeholders, customers, and end users conforming to the standards established by the IT organization

Specific Duties:

  • Advanced technical skills along with mentorship, coaching, development, advisor and mentor
  • Definition of design and development standards for solutions platforms and peripheral applications
  • Champion solution flexibility, reuse and legacy-application retirement
  • Development of proactive monitoring solutions for all solution elements
  • Event correlation across solution elements, including analysis and resolution
  • Solution concept design and estimation
  • Conduct design reviews and architecture assessments to ensure compliance to IT standards
  • Develop standards for new technologies, including decision criteria for when to employ new technologies vs. existing


Position Criteria:

  • Exposure to several layers of technology solutions: hardware, application administration, application development, support, etc.
  • Experience in enterprise application architecture
  • Experience with server side JAVA and JSP development
  • Requires the ability to work on multiple projects of varying scope and scale
  • Excellent proficiency with the English language (written and verbal). Additional language capabilities are a plus
  • Experience with Oracle WebCenter Portal (WCP) 11 or 12
  • Experience with Oracle WebCenter Content (UCM) 11


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as: B.S. in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in IT in multiple technology platforms is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of expertise designing, developing, optimizing and maintaining enterprise-class web platforms.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience of successfully delivering on all aspects of a technology project
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship. 


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Oracle Access Manager (OAM)
  • Knowledge of presentation-layer technologies such as HTML, HTML5, JavaScript, XML, Java7-8, JQuery, Ajax, CSS,CSS3,  Bootstrap 3, responsive design and responsive web development
  • Experience with integration of enterprise systems
  • Experience and working knowledge of related disciplines such as Information Architecture, Solution Architecture
  • Exposure to several layers of technology solutions: hardware, application administration, application development, support, etc.
