Through our partnership with Modis, we have an exciting opportunity for a Site Reliability Engineer in Jacksonville, FL 32258. This is a 3-month contract-to-hire role paying $50-$75+/hour. Job Description:This role works as part of a team responsible for monitoring, assessing, and improving continuous integration and automated release processes and technologies across the development and testing environments for on-premise and public cloud environments. The team will own the tools used to determine the effectiveness of productionalized environments. The SRE will assess and provide improvements to increase the overall effectiveness on the path to production. The focus will be on measuring and improving quality while facilitating and automating the instrumentation of controls to IT teams. The SRE will perform work assignments within a dynamic, fast-paced agile environment, developing, prioritizing and grooming appropriate user stories for these improvements. 
Position Responsibilities: 
  • Maintain the monitoring tools that are utilized to measure effectiveness of environments
  • Analyze and automate inefficient and time-consuming processes
  • Integrate monitoring alerts into Service Management system assigning actionable items to the appropriate teams
  • Provide automation configuration expertise to the Application Development team 
  • Support the DevOps team to collect & report data on the health of build/test infrastructure 
  • Facilitate collaboration through the deployment of systems 
  • Continuously improve team collaboration through feedback and training
  • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure the tools they utilize are effective to support IT and the business
  • Drive development, implementation, and processes towards scalability 
  • Maintain appropriate project documentation for each build or release 

Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems/Technology, or equivalent and/or 5 years related work experience (development or infrastructure automation)
  • Understanding of the DevOps principles and patterns in an enterprise organization
  • Demonstrate understanding of source-code management processes (Git)
  • Significant programming experience in one of the following Python, node.js, Go, Ruby, Java
  • Create code-defined infrastructure
  • Familiarity with popular monitoring tools such as Solarwinds, CAAPM, Nagios and Splunk
  • Significant capability for scripting and automation utilizing a variety of tools
  • Remote administration and automatic configuration of Windows, Linux, OS X
  • Experience with ServiceNow preferred
  • Jenkins build automation with multi-stage builds and dependencies experience preferred
  • A passion for automation and optimization and a strong desire to drive process automation
