Job Description

Job Summary:

  • The Welder has the principal responsibility for maintaining the welding repair and fabricating new equipment following the company Welding Specifications.
  • He/She is aware of the potential risks associated with such works in a safe, orderly and efficient manner.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • People & Training- Participates in technical training related to his function.
  • Promotes the importance of Service Quality within the maintenance community.
  • Understands and complies with company's rules and regulations.
  • Maintains close communication with supervision and operation.
Process & Equipment
  • Ensures all assigned equipment (boxes, racks, skids, baskets and etc...) is continually maintained at the highest standards, resulting in proper functionality and minimum failures.
  • Supplies welding techniques to repair and build in new.
  • Ensures the welding machine and equipment are in perfect shape and under specifications.
  • Ensures all welding repair are finished to company's standard and specification.
  • Fabricates new equipment as required.
  • Establishes schedule for welding repair to meet demands.
  • Supervises the third-party welders at the facility.
Quality & HSE
  • Promotes a culture of safety awareness within the maintenance community.
  • Ensures his/her work areas are safe, clean and orderly at all times.
  • Keeps Maintenance Manuals and other confidential documents secure and in good order.
  • Follows the company policies and procedures on health, safety and environment.
  • Supports Management efforts to minimize general and Segment-specific Quality and HSE risks and promotes respect, understanding and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Uses QUEST to report RIR and for follow up on action items.
  • Continuously strives to optimize the safety and efficiency of maintenance procedures.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of Schlumberger and client information.
  • Understands and actively applies the OFS LTI/AA Prevention Plan.


  • The welder is a support position that can have an impact on the Service Quality of the location.
  • He or She must have the ability to perform welding techniques in the equipment assigned.
  • The candidate's knowledge, personality and drive must gain the respect of the other maintenance staff and the support of the supervision.

  • Candidates MUST be open to working either 1st or 2nd shift, schedule(s) are the same for all roles:
  • Shift 1: would be for day shift which runs from 6 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Saturday, 6 days a week. These are 10 hour work days.
  • Shift 2: would be for night shift which runs from 2 PM to 12 AM, Sunday through Friday, 6 days a week. These are 10 hour work days.
